 A Few Tips Before You Start Shopping

• Come with inspiration, but keep an open mind.

Knowing what you like is helpful, but don’t be surprised if the dress you fall in love with is completely different from what you pictured. Take advantage of the experience of the bridal professionals who are there to help you.

• Think about your wedding-day shoes.

If you already know approximately how high your heels will be, bring a pair with that heel height. It can make a big difference when seeing how a gown falls and moves.

• Dress for easy changes.

You may be trying on several gowns, so choose comfortable clothing that comes off and goes back on easily. Simple is best.

• Keep hair and makeup fitting-room friendly.

Light makeup helps protect the gowns, and having longer hair tied back or up will make changing easier—and give you a better view of different necklines.

• Found “the one,” but the fit isn’t perfect?

That doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t your dress. Speak with the on-site seamstress about what can realistically be altered before making your decision.

• Plan to shop without little ones, if possible.

The Gown Sale can get busy, with dress racks, mirrors, fitting areas and plenty of brides shopping at the same time. For safety and a more enjoyable shopping experience, we recommend leaving strollers and young children at home whenever possible.
